Another tip:
Use an indie-version of Skype. Since it belongs to Microsoft it is not a program which I want to use to communicate with friends or colleagues.
There are different programs which have no advertising and most of them are Open Source and Freeware.
Jitsi is one of these programs and has nearly the same scope that Skype provides you.
